Hadith / Sayings of Prophet Mohammed (Peace and Blessings
of Allah upon him).
Excellence Of Observing Fasts During Ramadan
323 Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's
Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah, the Exalted and Majestic said:
Every act of the son
of Adam is for him except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for Me and I (alone) will reward him for it. Fasting is a shield.
When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language, nor should raise the voice; or if
anyone reviles him or tires to quarrel with him, he should say: I am observing fast. By Him, in Whose hand is the life of
Muhammad, the breath of one who keeps the fast will be sweeter to Allah on the Day of Judgment than the fragrance of musk.
The one who fast experiences two joys: he feels pleasure when he breaks the fast. He is joyful by virtue of his fast when
he meets his Lord.

Visiting the Sick
1 Bara'bin Azib (Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger
of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has ordered us to pay a visit to the sick, to follow the funeral processions,
to give response to the sneezer, to help the oppressed, to accept the invitation extended by the invitor; and to currency
to the salutations

3 Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Messenger
of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
Verily, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious would say on the Day
of Resurrection:
O' son of Adam, I was indispensed but you did not pay a visit to Me.
He would say: O' my Lord, how
could I pay a visit to you because You are the Lord of the worlds?
Thereupon He would say: Did not you know that such
and such servant of Mine was ailing but you did not visit him. Behold! You must be fully aware (of this fact) if you had visited
him, you would have found Me by him?
O' son of Adam, I asked food from you but you did not feed Me.
He would submit:
My Lord, how could I feed You because You are the Lord of the worlds?
He said: Did not you remember that such and such
servant of Mine begged food from you but you declined to feed him. You must be aware (of this fact) that if you had fed him,
you would have found it's reward from Me. (The Lord would again say): O' son of Adam, I asked water from you but you did not
give it to Me.
He would say: My Lord how could I provide you (water) because you are the Lord of the worlds?
Thereupon
He would say: Such and such of my servant asked you for water to drink but you did not provide him with water.
Behold!
You must be aware (of this fact) that had you provided him (water), you would have found its reward from me.
(Muslim)
6 'Ali (Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as saying:
When a Muslim inquires after the health of another
sick Muslim at dawn, seventy-thousand angels continue seeking salvation for him till dusk. If he visits him in the evening
seventy-thousand angels continue invoking blessings on him till the morning and he will have gathered fruit in Paradise.
(Tirmidhi)
Supplicating for the sick
9 A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported:
When the
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) visited any member of his family he used to touch the invalid
with his right hand and beseech: O' Allah Lord of mankind! remove this disease and cure him! You are the Great Curer. There
is no cure but through Your healing power which leaves behind no disease.
