Every year Muslim Women's Coalition donates Ramadan Baskets
to the area’s abused women's shelters. This year we targeted one homeless shelter in Arlington and one abused women’s
shelter each in Loudon County, Arlington County and Montgomery County: Doorways
for Women and Families in Arlington County, LAWS in Loudon County, the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless or
AACH and the Abused Women’s Program in Montgomery County.
Ramadan Baskets are large laundry baskets filled with donated
items ranging from necessary personal hygiene items, to food and snacks, and a few clothing items such as socks and gloves.
This year our members created baskets and delivered them to local shelters.
We were very pleased to find a high volume of interest this
year and would like to thank all of our volunteers for their cooperation and dedication this year!
